For most of recorded history, not even the greatest philosophers questioned the immorality of slavery. Today, we recognize the discordant hypocrisy of a mindset that wrote “all men are created equal” while discarding women and owning slaves, As a whole, humanity recognizes slavery’s innate evil, but it took millennia.
For humans to survive, we must continue to progress to a society that respects the lives of all living creatures. We are all connected. So, how we treat the voiceless and vulnerable is a reflection something foul in the human condition we need to overcome.
